2. GENERAL TERMS

By accessing our website or purchasing our products, you acknowledge that:

  • You are legally capable of entering into a binding contract.
  • You will provide accurate and complete information when placing an order.
  • You are responsible for checking the suitability and compatibility of products before purchasing.
  • You will not use our website for fraudulent, unlawful or unauthorised purposes.
  • You understand that product availability, pricing and delivery estimates may change.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders where there are legitimate reasons to do so, including suspected fraud, genuine stock shortages, pricing errors or legal restrictions.

Where we cancel an order after payment has been taken, any sum paid for goods that will not be supplied will be refunded.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or restricts rights that cannot legally be excluded.

3. PRODUCT INFORMATION & COMPATIBILITY

3.1 Product Descriptions

German Parts makes reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, specifications and compatibility information are accurate.

However, vehicle manufacturers may introduce changes to components during a production cycle, meaning that visually similar parts may have different specifications.

Customers should not assume compatibility based solely on vehicle model, registration year or product appearance.

3.2 Customer Responsibility

Customers are strongly encouraged to verify the following before purchasing:

  • Vehicle manufacturer and model.
  • Vehicle production year.
  • OEM or manufacturer part number.
  • Vehicle identification number (VIN), where relevant.
  • Existing component specifications.
  • Electrical configuration and coding requirements.
  • Left-hand-drive or right-hand-drive specifications, where applicable.

German Parts offers compatibility assistance upon request.

Where customers provide accurate vehicle information and rely on compatibility advice expressly given by German Parts, nothing in these terms excludes our legal responsibilities concerning that advice.

3.3 Incorrectly Ordered Products

Where a customer independently selects and orders an incompatible product despite accurate compatibility information being available, any change-of-mind return will be subject to our Returns & Refunds Policy.

Where German Parts supplies an incorrect or misdescribed product, applicable statutory remedies will be provided.

4. PRICING & PAYMENT

4.1 Product Pricing

All prices are displayed in the currency shown on our website.

VAT will be included or identified as applicable, and the total payable will be confirmed before checkout.

Delivery charges and any additional charges payable to German Parts will be displayed before the order is submitted.

4.2 Pricing Errors

We make reasonable efforts to maintain accurate product pricing.

In the event of a genuine pricing or listing error, we reserve the right to contact the customer and offer the opportunity to proceed at the correct price or cancel the affected order.

We will not increase an agreed order price without the customer’s consent.

4.3 Payment Authorisation

Orders must be paid for using an accepted payment method unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing.

We reserve the right to carry out reasonable fraud prevention and payment verification checks.

Orders may be delayed or declined where payment authorisation cannot be obtained.

5. ORDER ACCEPTANCE & CANCELLATION

5.1 Order Confirmation

Upon placing an order, customers will normally receive an automated email confirming that their order has been received.

An automated acknowledgement does not necessarily constitute acceptance of the order.

A binding contract is formed when German Parts expressly accepts the order, normally through a dispatch confirmation or other written acceptance.

5.2 Order Cancellation

Cancellation requests should be submitted to enquiries@germanparts.co.uk as soon as possible.

Where a customer has a statutory cancellation right, that right applies regardless of whether the order has entered processing or dispatch.

For other cancellation requests, we will assess whether the order can reasonably be cancelled and communicate any applicable conditions.

5.3 Special Orders & Custom Products

Certain goods are sourced, manufactured or customised specifically for individual customers.

Business-to-business special orders may be non-cancellable once accepted, subject to the agreed commercial terms and applicable law.

Products genuinely manufactured to an individual consumer’s specifications or clearly personalised may be exempt from statutory change-of-mind cancellation rights.

The fact that a standard product has been ordered from an overseas supplier does not, by itself, remove a consumer’s statutory cancellation rights.

6. SHIPPING & DELIVERY

German Parts operates UK and German supply arrangements and offers international shipping.

Our standard estimated delivery timeframes are:

  • UK warehouse stock: 24–48 hours after dispatch.
  • Germany branch stock to UK: 5–7 working days.
  • European Union: 10–14 business days.
  • Other international destinations: 12–18 business days.

These timeframes are estimates unless an agreed delivery date has been expressly confirmed.

Delivery may be affected by customs clearance, courier operations, supplier availability or other circumstances.

Where goods cannot be delivered within the agreed period, we will provide the appropriate remedies under applicable law.

Customers are encouraged not to arrange installation appointments until the goods have been received, inspected and confirmed suitable.

Full details are available in our Shipping & Delivery Policy.

7. RETURNS, REFUNDS & EXCHANGES

7.1 Voluntary Returns

German Parts provides a 28-day voluntary returns policy on qualifying products.

Returns must comply with our published Returns & Refunds Policy.

For business customers, approved change-of-mind returns may be subject to a 20% restocking fee and non-refundable original delivery charges.

For consumers outside their statutory cancellation rights, the same fee may apply to returns voluntarily accepted under our extended returns policy.

7.2 Consumer Cancellation Rights

Consumers purchasing eligible goods online generally have 14 days after delivery to notify us of cancellation, followed by a further 14 days to return the goods.

Statutory cancellation refunds will be processed in accordance with applicable legislation.

Restocking fees will not be applied to valid statutory cancellation returns.

7.3 Return Inspection

German Parts reserves the right to inspect returned products to verify their identity, completeness and condition.

For discretionary returns, refunds or exchanges will not ordinarily be approved until the original products have been received and inspected.

Where statutory refund rights apply, we will comply with the relevant legal requirements and timeframes.

7.4 Faulty Products

Where goods are faulty, not as described or fail to meet applicable legal standards, customers may be entitled to repair, replacement, refund or other remedies.

Our voluntary returns conditions do not remove or restrict these rights.

8. PRODUCT WARRANTIES

8.1 Commercial Warranty

German Parts provides additional limited warranties on eligible products.

Headlight warranty periods are:

  • Headlights without control units: 6 months.
  • Headlights with control units: 12 months.

Warranty coverage may include qualifying LED failures, control-module defects and internal electrical failures.

8.2 Warranty Exclusions

Our additional commercial warranty does not cover failures directly caused by:

  • Accidental or collision damage.
  • Incorrect installation.
  • Improper coding or programming.
  • Unauthorised alterations.
  • Customer or third-party misuse.
  • Incompatible retrofitting.
  • External electrical faults.
  • Ordinary wear and tear or excluded consumables.

Warranty exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law.

8.3 Warranty Inspection

German Parts may require the original product to be returned for technical inspection.

Supporting evidence, including photographs, installation details and diagnostic reports, may be requested where reasonably necessary.

Where a qualifying defect is established, an appropriate remedy will be provided.

Our commercial warranties are additional to customers’ statutory rights.

9. INSTALLATION, CODING & VEHICLE MODIFICATIONS

Many automotive components require specialist installation, diagnostic software, programming or vehicle-specific coding.

German Parts recommends that all safety-critical, electrical and specialist components are fitted by qualified automotive professionals.

Customers should ensure that the installing garage has the necessary equipment, training and technical expertise.

German Parts is not responsible for defects in work performed independently by third-party garages.

Damage caused by incorrect installation, unsuitable coding, unauthorised modification or vehicle incompatibility is not covered by our additional commercial warranty.

However, nothing in this clause excludes liability for defects inherent in the supplied goods or for incorrect advice for which German Parts is legally responsible.

10. PERFORMANCE & AFTERMARKET PRODUCTS

Certain products offered by German Parts are intended for performance enhancement, modification or specialist automotive applications.

Such products may include:

  • Sports catalytic converters and downpipes.
  • Performance exhaust components.
  • Carbon fibre aerodynamic components.
  • Motorsport and track-use components.
  • Custom bodywork and conversion kits.
  • Modified electronic or mechanical components.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that modifications comply with applicable vehicle regulations, insurance conditions and road-use requirements.

Some performance products may not be approved for public-road use in all jurisdictions.

Product descriptions will identify relevant restrictions where applicable.

German Parts does not guarantee that a modification will produce a specific performance increase unless such a guarantee has been expressly provided.

Where German Parts undertakes installation or other workshop services itself, those services will be performed with reasonable care and skill, in accordance with applicable law.

11. THIRD-PARTY GARAGES & LABOUR COSTS

German Parts is primarily a supplier of automotive components.

Unless installation services have been specifically purchased from German Parts, customers are responsible for making their own arrangements with independent repairers.

Our additional commercial warranty does not automatically include reimbursement for:

  • Labour charges.
  • Installation and removal costs.
  • Diagnostic or programming charges.
  • Recovery and transportation costs.
  • Vehicle hire.
  • Missed garage appointments.
  • Loss of business income.

For business customers, liability for such costs is governed by the agreed contract and applicable law.

For consumers, these terms do not exclude the recovery of reasonably foreseeable losses where German Parts is legally responsible.

Customers should contact German Parts before authorising additional expenditure arising from a suspected product defect.

12. BUSINESS-TO-BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS

Orders placed wholly or mainly for business purposes are treated as business-to-business purchases.

This includes purchases by motor traders, workshops, repair garages and automotive businesses.

Business customers do not receive statutory consumer cooling-off rights.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • Special-order products may be non-cancellable.
  • Made-to-order products may be non-returnable.
  • Approved discretionary returns may incur a 20% restocking fee.
  • Original delivery charges may be non-refundable.
  • Clearance products may be excluded from voluntary returns.
  • All warranty claims may be subject to inspection.
  • Payment must be made in accordance with agreed invoice terms.

Any limitation of liability or exclusion of implied contractual terms applies only where legally enforceable, including where applicable statutory reasonableness requirements are satisfied.

13. OWNERSHIP & RISK

Ownership of products remains with German Parts until payment has been received in full, to the extent permitted by law.

For consumer deliveries arranged by German Parts, risk generally passes when the goods are delivered into the physical possession of the consumer or their nominated recipient.

For business customers, risk and ownership transfer will be governed by the agreed commercial terms and applicable law.

Nothing in this clause limits statutory consumer protections concerning delivery or loss of goods.

14. CHARGEBACKS & PAYMENT DISPUTES

German Parts takes payment disputes and allegations of unauthorised transactions seriously.

Customers experiencing an issue with an order are encouraged to contact our customer service team so that we can investigate and attempt to resolve the matter.

Where a cardholder initiates a payment dispute, German Parts reserves the right to provide relevant transactional evidence to the payment processor, card issuer or dispute-resolution provider.

Such evidence may include:

  • Order confirmations and invoices.
  • Proof of dispatch and delivery.
  • Customer communications.
  • Product information and descriptions.
  • Relevant returns and warranty records.
  • Evidence of an agreed commercial transaction.

Personal information will only be shared where appropriate and lawful.

German Parts reserves the right to contest chargebacks where the available evidence supports its position.

Nothing in this policy prevents customers from exercising lawful chargeback, Section 75, consumer protection or other dispute-resolution rights.

15. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

German Parts will be responsible for losses or damage caused by a breach of contract or other legal duty to the extent required by applicable law.

We are not responsible for losses that result solely from circumstances outside our legal responsibility, including customer misuse, incorrect third-party installation or unauthorised alterations.

For business-to-business transactions, German Parts seeks to exclude liability for indirect or consequential commercial losses, loss of profit and business interruption to the extent permitted by law and subject to any applicable reasonableness requirement.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence.
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
  • Breach of statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
  • Any other matter for which liability cannot lawfully be restricted.

Any limitation of liability must be interpreted consistently with applicable UK legislation.

16. WEBSITE CONTENT & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All original website content, including product photography, written descriptions, graphics, branding and other materials created by or licensed to German Parts, remains the property of the relevant rights holder.

Customers and third parties may not reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit protected material without appropriate permission.

German Parts is an independent parts supplier and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any vehicle manufacturer unless expressly stated.

Manufacturer names, trademarks and vehicle model references are used for product identification and compatibility purposes.

All respective trademarks remain the property of their owners.

17. WEBSITE AVAILABILITY & SECURITY

German Parts makes reasonable efforts to maintain the availability and security of its website.

We cannot guarantee uninterrupted website access or that the website will always be free from technical faults.

We reserve the right to carry out maintenance, correct errors or temporarily restrict access where reasonably necessary.

Customers must not attempt to interfere with website functionality, security systems or payment processes.

Nothing in this section removes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

18. PRIVACY & PERSONAL INFORMATION

German Parts handles customer information in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act 2018.

Information may be processed for purposes including:

  • Order fulfilment.
  • Payment processing.
  • Customer support.
  • Delivery arrangements.
  • Returns and warranty administration.
  • Fraud prevention.
  • Compliance with legal obligations.

Further details about how personal information is collected, used, retained and shared must be provided in our separate Privacy Policy.

The use of cookies and similar technologies is governed by applicable privacy and electronic communications requirements.

19. CUSTOMER COMMUNICATIONS & COMPLAINTS

German Parts aims to handle all customer enquiries and complaints fairly and professionally.

Customers wishing to raise a complaint should contact:

Email: enquiries@germanparts.co.uk
Telephone: 01992 522 600

Customers should provide their order number, relevant supporting evidence and a description of the issue.

We will investigate complaints within a reasonable timeframe and communicate our findings.

Where a complaint cannot be resolved internally, customers retain the right to pursue any applicable legal or independent dispute-resolution process.

20. EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR REASONABLE CONTROL

German Parts will not be responsible for a failure or delay in performing contractual obligations to the extent caused by events outside our reasonable control, subject to applicable law.

Such events may include severe weather, transport disruption, industrial action, international trade restrictions, natural disasters and significant supply-chain interruptions.

Where an event materially affects an order, we will take reasonable steps to notify the customer and minimise disruption.

Consumers retain their statutory rights relating to delayed or undelivered goods, including applicable cancellation and refund rights.

21. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to mandatory legal protections that may apply to customers in other jurisdictions.

For business-to-business transactions, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, unless otherwise agreed in writing or required by law.

Consumers retain any mandatory rights to bring proceedings in a jurisdiction made available to them by applicable legislation.

22. AMENDMENTS TO THESE TERMS

German Parts reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions to reflect changes in business operations, legislation or commercial practices.

Revised terms will be published on our website with an updated revision date.

Changes will not retrospectively alter existing contractual rights or obligations without a lawful basis.

The terms applicable to an order will ordinarily be those in effect when the relevant contract was formed.

23. SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent legally permissible.

An unenforceable term will not be relied upon against a customer.

24. RELATED POLICIES

These Terms & Conditions should be read alongside our:

  • Returns, Refunds & Cancellations Policy.
  • Shipping & Delivery Policy.
  • Product Warranty Policy.
  • Privacy Policy.

Where a specific policy provides additional information regarding a transaction, that policy will apply alongside these Terms & Conditions.
